"How I love being a woman," says Ruby in the third season of Anne with an E (Netflix). I think this whole scene is so powerful to me, as a woman. It warms my heart every time I recall this scene in mind. It's been a long journey for me to get to this stage, to get to know myself and be comfortable in my own skin, to be the person that I am today. Now I love myself, and I love being a woman. Oftentimes, women are treated differently simply because they're women. They're belittled and their experienced are overlooked. They're compared with one another as if their self worth is defined by their looks. They're still shamed for choosing to pursue a career than to settle down to raise a family. They're branded as emotional when they're expressing their passion for something, or when they're simply defending themselves.
